Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved in the fight against human trafficking and you've already made the first step by visiting this website and getting informed about the issue. Some ways you can get involved locally:

1. Host a Presentation

Our committee is available for presentations locally and can customize any presentations to fit your event, venue and timeframe. Contact us at sarniaagainsthumantrafficking@gmail.com for more information.

2. Join our Committee or a Sub-Committee

Our Committee meets once every two months and our sub-committees meet more regularly and carry out the work of the SLCATWC. These sub-committees are:

  • Public Education

    • This sub-committee actively looks for opportunities to empower the community with knowledge and increase awareness of human trafficking through presentations and by being visible at community events. Sub-committee members dedicate themselves to staying up-to-date on issues involving human trafficking locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • Fundraising

    • This sub-committee organizes fundraising events that raise money when there is no outside funding available from grants and donations. This helps sustain the Committee and its work. Volunteers are always welcome in both planning and running events.
  • Website and Social Media

    • This sub-committee maintains this website and runs the Committee's Facebook and Twitter accounts and works to share current information on human trafficking with the community.

If you are interested in learning more about these sub-committees or would like to join one of them, please contact sarniaagainsttrafficking@gmail.com or call 519-337-3154.
